Symptoms
The hemipenes of the male lizard will be swollen
everted, that is, on the outside of the lizards body.
There is no definate cause of penis prolapse.
Treatment
The veterinarian will apply an ointment to the hemipenes,
and slowly massage it back into the vent. This is the
only real treatment for penis prolapse. If the ointment
and massaging do not work, the hemipenes may need to be
amputated. |
