The
Beaked Gecko (Rhynchoedura ornata) is
natively found in the central regions of the Australian
continent. They prefer to stay away from coastal areas,
and as such are not found on the outer portions of the
country.
The Beaked Gecko is a nocturnal
species of lizard, hunting through the desert regions
of Australia once the sun goes down, looking for their
favorite food; termites.
Beaked Geckos are small geckos, growing to a
maximum length of about 5 cm. Their skin is brown with
a red tinge to it, and are covered in small spots ranging
from yellow, brown and white in color.
In parts of Australia, most notably Victoria, the Beaked
Gecko is an endangered species. Paperwork and proper
licenses are required to own a Beaked Gecko. |
