The
Chameleon Gecko lives in the highland
rainforests of Australia, and staying localized within
the northeastern areas of Queensland.
These small geckos grow to estimated lengths of about
14 cm, are very slender with thin limbs. They are nocturnal
lizards and tend to stay close to the ground. These
small lizards will move throughout
and hide in leaves on the forest floor, hollow logs
and branches, and dead tree trunks.
The Chameleon Gecko is normally a
dark brown color, with small spots of ligher brown over
their bodies. Their nose, or snout, area is a lighter
shade, with black lines running back from behind their
eyes. These lizards tails also tend
to be a shade darker than the rest of their body. Their
undersides are a lot lighter, with a slight pinkish
hue in the color. |
