The
Forest Bavayia (Bavayia cyclura) is a
gecko native to Grande Terre, and quite common there
as well. It has also spread to the surrounding islands
as well, including Isle des Pin and the Mare Islands.
The Forest Bavayia is considered a medium to
large species of gecko, with their body growing
to a length of about 7 cm, and their tail another 7
cm. Their natural color is brown with a pattern of paler
brown or tan color making up 5 seperate and distinct
blotches. They also have a light brown stripe on either
side of their head. |
