Native
to Australia, the Rainbow Skink (Lampropholis
delicata) has also been introduced to New Zealand.
Other lizards have been introduced to New Zealand, but
the Rainbow Skink is the only species to breed successfully
in the wild.
This species of skink is very hardy, and can withstand
multiple habitat types. Human disturbance, whether by
habitat destruction or transport, does not seem to adversely
affect the Rainbow Skink. |
