Food
& Water
The Striped Madagascar Gecko is omnivorous,
meaning they eat both meat and plant matter. Their main
diet should consist of a wide variety of insects, including
crickets, spiders, flies, silkworms and butterworms. Also
feed them small pieces of fruit, or fruit baby food. They
will get their water from dew that has collected on leaves
in their habitat. Make sure to spray water once a day.
Lighting, Temperature & Humidity
Keep the average temperature during the day around 83
degrees F. At night, the temperature can drop to as low
as 65 degrees F, but should be kept at an average temperature
of 69 degrees F. Humidity should be kept at 70% at all
times. Housing
For a single Striped Madagascar Gecko,
a terrarium about 12" x 12" x 16" should
suffice. The 16" should be the height. No matter
what the size of the habitat, make sure it is higher than
it is long or deep. Provide various items for climbing
and hiding, and real plants. |
